POSITION SUMMARY
Perform general carpentry work toinclude building, installing, repairing and maintaining ofstructures, furniture, doors, windows, etc. as directed. Operateassociated power and hand tools and equipment. This is a full-timeyear-round benefit eligible position, paid at $25.00 – $30.00/hr,based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Build and install door andwindow framing; install locks, doorknobs and other hardware Repairand maintain doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings andbuilding exteriors Build, repair and refinish wood furniture andfixtures to include cabinets, tables, shelving, bulletin boards,etc. Maintain carpentry tools in working order Erect, maintain, anddismantle walls and structures Respond to resort work orderrequests and emergencies in a timely, efficient, and professionalmanner Maintain appropriate service and repair records Research,purchase, and inventory equipment, tools, parts, wood, chemicalsand supplies May train and direct the work of other staff in thearea Assist and serves as back up to other Facilities employeesSupport department standards, policies, and work practices forstaff Additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma, or equivalent requiredTechnical Diploma, associate degree or two years college coursework preferred
Experience:
2 to 4 years of related experience
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Basiccarpentry trade skills to include ability to read sketches, printsand diagrams; operate and maintain various hand and power toolsKnowledge of applicable Vermont Building Code, safety rules andpractices is required Ability to take direction Communicate clearlyboth written and verbal Ability to complete trainings as required
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Vehicle provided for travel on the mountain. Avalid driver’s license is required for this position and successfulMotor Vehicle background check.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKINGCONDITIONS
