Diving and Life Support Certification Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Diving and Life Support Certification Specialist to support the evaluation, certification, and safety assurance of diving and life support systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of Navy and industry standards, commercial diving practices, and regulatory safety requirements. This role is critical to ensure our systems comply with rigorous Navy and OSHA standards and support safe operations in all diving-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Certification Support:
Assist in the preparation, review, and execution of certification processes for diving and life support equipment.
Ensure compliance with US Navy and industry safety standards.
Maintain accurate documentation supporting system certification and safety evaluations.
Safety and Compliance:
Conduct assessments and inspections of diving and life support equipment per Navy and OSHA standards.
Interpret and apply safety regulations from the
NAVY SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANUAL
(5100.23 CH-3) and
OSHA 29 CFR 1910
as related to diving operations.
Recommend corrective actions and improvements to enhance system safety and certification readiness.
Technical Expertise:
working knowledge of current commercial diving practices.
Analyze and resolve technical problems related to diving and life support systems.
Provide technical input for equipment upgrades, repairs, and procedural improvements.
Training and Awareness:
Educate teams on compliance requirements and industry best practices.
Stay updated with changes to standards, regulations, and certification procedures.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience with diving and life support systems.
Practical experience with US Navy Diving and Life Support systems strongly preferred.
Familiarity with:
Current commercial diving practices and OSHA diving regulations.
US Navy Diving and Life Support equipment certification processes and procedures.
