Concrete Finisher Baker Design Build Jacksonville, FL 32202 Job Summary The Concrete Finisher with expertise in constructing and finishing ADA-compliant ramps and other concrete structures will have a strong understanding of ADA regulations, concrete forming, and finishing techniques. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Responsibilities:
Construct and finish ADA-compliant ramps, sidewalks, curbs, and other concrete structures. Read and interpret blueprints, construction plans, and ADA specifications to ensure compliance. Set forms, mix, pour, level, and smooth concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Apply finishing techniques, including troweling, floating, edging, and texturing, to meet project specifications. Ensure proper slope, width, and surface texture for ADA compliance. Work with a team to complete projects on time while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Repair and resurface damaged concrete as needed. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Follow OSHA and company safety regulations to prevent accidents. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in concrete finishing, including ADA ramp construction. Excavator and skidsteer experience preferred. Strong knowledge of ADA guidelines for sidewalks, ramps, and accessibility requirements. Experience with forming, pouring, leveling, and finishing concrete. Ability to use tools such as floats, trowels, screeds, edgers, and power saws. Basic understanding of grading, drainage, and site preparation. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. OSHA-30 certification preferred. This role is crucial for ensuring that sidewalks are accessible and meet all regulatory standards.
