Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Concrete Curb Finisher to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience forming and finishing FL DOT-style curbs by hand, with the ability to build both radius and straight curbs accurately and consistently to DOT specifications. A solid foundation in concrete forming and finishing techniques, combined with a sharp eye for detail, is essential to consistently deliver high-quality results on every project.

Key Responsibilities:

Be able to accurately level freshly placed concrete according to grade and depth specifications Work with various types of curb styles (Type F, Type E, Miami etc.) Ensure all work aligns with project specifications and maintains high-quality standards Interpret and understand job site stakes and markers accurately Support other crews by performing various tasks such as saw cutting, breaking down forms, pouring concrete, and more to facilitate smooth project progression Read and interpret project plans and specifications to execute tasks efficiently and accurately Utilize finishing tools and equipment, including hand float, bull floats, screed, broom etc., to achieve smooth and precise concrete surfaces Constantly monitor environmental conditions such as rain, wind, heat, and cold to assess their effects on concrete pouring and curing throughout the project Saw-cut joints in concrete to control cracking Set and place forms at the correct grade and locations, prepare the base Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and propose effective solutions Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean worksite

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a concrete curb finisher Proficient in forming and finishing various types of concrete, including curbs, flatwork, pads concrete paving, etc. Strong understanding of leveling & measuring tools and techniques Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude Valid driver’s license preferred Physical requirements Ability to lift 50 or more pounds Physical dexterity to pour, grade, and finish concrete, involving movements such as lifting, carrying, bending, crawling, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and crouching Good physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks Capability to work outdoors and adapt to varying weather conditions Ability to stand for extended periods
