This role will be vital to the execution of fundraising campaigns that support donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Advancement Specialist also contributes to the success of fundraising events and corporate sponsorship efforts by helping to build meaningful relationships and generate support for the Council’s mission. Duties and Responsibilities Database Management & Gift Processing Collects and enters donor and prospect information into the database. Generates reports on fundraising software to track campaigns, funds, and appeals. Monitors data entry activity to ensure accurate and up-to-date records. Collaborates with Advancement staff and other departments to provide software support and implement methods for capturing all pertinent information in the database. Supports annual and seasonal giving efforts through donor segmentation, prospect identification, research, and tracking engagement activity. Supports the department in implementing a moves management system. Fundraising & Donor Relations Executes a strategic stewardship process for donors with a strong emphasis on customer service. Manages donor engagement touchpoints to include appeals through personal outreach, direct mail, e-blasts, and donor recognition, with accurate documentation in database. Acts as the main point of contact for direct mail vendors and tracks mail-drop dates and projects with the Marketing team. Assists AVP of Community Engagement & Advancement with reviewing and developing copy and layout for all fundraising appeals. Segments lists for all mailings, reports, annual donor ads, event invitations, and donor recognition initiatives. Creates and schedules targeted eblasts to drive donor engagement and retention. Assumes other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by AVP. Event Support Assists in the planning and coordination of special events to support fundraising and donor engagement. Serves as staff liaison with outside vendors and partners for event logistics and manages on-site coordination of events. Supports the Advancement team with event solicitations to include sponsorships, auction items and/or in-kind donations. Serves as a liaison for third-party and collaborative fundraising events. Tracks and compiles quantitative event data and works with marketing team for sponsorship recognition and post-event recaps. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1-2 years of experience working within a nonprofit or corporate office. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience within a department responsible for fundraising. Strong writing, organizational and communication skills. Tech-savvy and adept to learning new processes and systems, with familiarity with fundraising or CRM databases, Microsoft Office, and Constant Contact. Flexibility in work schedule with the ability to occasionally work after-hours and on some weekends for meetings and cultivation/fundraising events. This position is eligible for overtime pay. Able to positively represent the Council in the community. Characteristics of a Strong Candidate 1-2 years of fundraising experience Highly organized and meticulous. Ability to multi-task, work collaboratively, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with fundraising software (preference given to Raiser’s Edge/NXT). Confident communicator, with excellent writing skills. Compensation The Cultural Council offers a competitive compensation package with benefits. The salary range for this position is $45,000-$50,000.
