Codes Enforcement Specialist City of St. Petersburg – 3.8 Saint Petersburg, FL Job Details Part-time $20.32 – $30.97 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications Microsoft Word iRecruitment Microsoft Excel Oracle Microsoft Outlook Mid-level Administrative experience High school diploma or GED Full Job Description This is part-time, responsible administrative support work of a difficult nature involving the performance of a wide variety of assigned duties within the administrative office of the Codes Compliance Assistance department. Work may be of a confidential nature, and may include research, records management, data entry, appointment scheduling, complaint resolution, correspondence, report preparation, and providing customer service to citizens on the phone and in-person. Work involves coordinating, reviewing, maintaining, and processing case files submitted to the Code Enforcement Board or County Circuit Court for resolution and other enforcement support functions and lead worker responsibilities as assigned. Work includes securing purchase orders and making payments via procurement and accounts payable software through data entry and request tracking. Work is performed with considerable independence and requires the exercise of good judgment and tact, especially when dealing with the public.

Applicants must:

Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency. Have considerable progressive administrative support experience. Have some experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Be able to competently use a personal computer to write reports, enter data, and conduct research. Be able to prepare and accurately maintain moderately complex records, reports, and case files. Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, an applicant must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster. Desirable Qualifications.

Preferred applicants:

Have some knowledge of State and local housing and zoning ordinances, laws, and regulations. Are familiar with various software applications to include Sungard HTE Code Enforcement software, See-Click-Fix, Oracle, and WFM. Are able to exercise good judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Selection Process
