The successfulcandidate will receive $500 after 6 months of employment and theother $500 after one year of employment with our organization.

Our organizational missionis to assist people in becoming active community members throughour person-centered program of goal development and skillacquisition. Our staff take a true person-centered approach andfocus on the individuality of each participant. We are looking forcandidates in Alamance County and surrounding counties to work withus in accomplishing our overall mission and goals. Under thesupervision of the Supported Employment Director or AssistantDirector, Employment Specialists provide direct support andcoaching to enable participants in achieving their employmentgoals. We offer nationally accredited paid training, competitivesalary, and mileage reimbursement to employees.

Job Description andResponsibilities:
  • Provide on-the-job training to assist andsupport participants in mastering the tasks required for theposition obtained.
  • Interface with employers to build communityrelationships and assist in successful job placements.
  • Performprevocational activities including but not limited to; mockinterviewing, resume building, application assistance, and problemsolving.
  • Develop rapport with Participants to ensure the mostsuitable job match is attained.
  • Due to the dynamic nature of theposition, the ideal candidate will be able to multi-task, managetime effectively, and display the ability to communicateproductively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • This positionrequires open availability and flexibility to coordinate with thetraining needs of the participants.
  • Act as a positive role modelat all times through positive reinforcement, encouragement, andresource sharing.
  • Due to the autonomy of this position, the idealcandidate will have excellent communication skills, self-direction,and motivation to work independently while still being an activepart of the team.
  • Advocating on behalf of program participants toalways ensure equal opportunities.
  • Model and maintain good workhabits to include punctuality, communication, a positive attitude,professional appearance, and accountability.
  • Complete allnecessary documentation as assigned by supervisor.
  • Occasionaltransportation may be provided for participants.
  • Basic computerskills in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams andZoom.
  • This position starts off as part-time with the ability tomove to full-time after 90 days depending on performance andcompany needs.
  • This position requires open availability andflexibility to coordinate with the training needs of theparticipants, which can include evenings and weekends.
EducationRequirement:
  • At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent;college degree preferred in Human Services.
ExperienceRequirements:
  • Experience working in a Human Services environmentpreferred.

Cape Fear will provide training to individuals withlimited experience.
