Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Finisher to join our construction team. The Concrete Finisher will be responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete such as floors, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of concrete characteristics, curing techniques, and finishing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Set forms and ensure they are properly aligned and secure. Spread, level, and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, and float. Mold expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, and straightedges. Monitor the effects of weather on the curing process and apply necessary treatments such as curing compounds or plastic sheeting. Patch voids and use chisels or grinders to remove excess concrete. Ensure surfaces are free of defects and finish according to specified textures and patterns. Clean and maintain tools and equipment. Follow safety procedures and ensure work site is safe and clean. Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a concrete finisher or similar role in the construction industry. Knowledge of concrete types, curing times, and finishing methods. Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical plans. Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in all weather conditions. Excellent attention to detail and precision in finishing work. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
Working Conditions:
Outdoor work in various weather conditions. May involve lifting heavy materials and standing for long periods. Use of protective gear such as gloves, boots, and goggles required.
