Primary job duties include:

Reviewing and auditing tax returns and making any adjustments needed to ensure taxpayer compliance with federal and state tax laws. Communicating with taxpayers to explain return adjustments. Staying up-to-date on tax law changes and on knowledge of our internal tax systems. Making recommendations to improve existing processes.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Either:

1.A bachelor’s degree with multiple accounting courses (Transcripts required. Attach to application or email to .) OR 2.A bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis. OR 3.An associate’s degree and three years of experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis. OR 4.Relevant experience or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis with an approved equivalence by the Division of State Human Resources (DSHR) Academic degrees must be from an accredited institution of higher learning. Preferred Qualifications Twelve semester hours in accounting, audit, or other business-related subjects Basic knowledge of SC tax laws and forms and on-line computer systems Additional Comments We have multiple openings for this position.

Hours:

Flexible hours may be available from 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week) Telework schedule: This position may be eligible to work remotely up to two days per week.
