POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently recruiting for anEngineering Technician.
This positionis responsible technical work involving engineering planning, construction and/or compliance inspections. Incumbents in this job may also perform duties of identifying, inspecting, and condition coding county utilities assets and provide an accurate inventory and condition of assets,and other duties as assigned. This full-time position starts at18.00per and is located inTampa, Florida.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts compliance inspections on major building, civil, and utility construction projects to ensure conformance with regulations, standards and specifications. Reviews construction plans, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with regulations and specifications. Attends preconstruction meetings with engineers and developers to discuss construction schedules and other issues. Drafts or revises plans and drawings from in-house projects, contractors designed projects, field notes or construction plans to ensure conformance with specifications and contract requirements. Inspects all materials and equipment delivered to the construction site to ensure that they meet specifications Conducts inspections of equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong analytical skills Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills within the English language. Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Proven, high quality customer service (internal and external customers). Ability to work collaboratively. Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action. Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize tasks. Ability to effectively communicate to large and small group audiences. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Ability to operate general office equipment. Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED Certificate; Three (3) years of experience in engineering support; An equivalent combination of training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds at times. Standard hours of work 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Monday to Friday Travel may be required up to 10 of the time.
