Building Permit Technician Freedom Code Compliance 500 NW University Boulevard, Port Saint Lucie, FL 34953 As a Building Permit Technician, you will play a vital role in our organization by facilitating the building permit process for our clients. You will be responsible for assisting in the coordination, review, and issuance of building permits, ensuring that all necessary documentation and requirements are met. Your expertise in navigating permit procedures and regulations will help streamline the approval process and contribute to the success of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Review permit applications to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with building codes and regulations. Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather required documentation and address any deficiencies in permit applications. Conduct thorough reviews of construction plans and specifications to verify compliance with applicable codes, zoning ordinances, and other regulatory requirements. Process and track building permits, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to established timelines. Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding the status of permit applications, providing updates and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all permit-related activities, including approvals, rejections, and revisions. Collaborate with internal teams to provide support and guidance on building permit processes and regulations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant certifications or coursework in building codes, construction, or a related field is a plus. Proven experience as a Building Permit Technician or similar role, preferably within the construction or code compliance industry. Solid understanding of building codes, zoning ordinances, and permit regulations in the State of Florida. Familiarity with the permit application process and associated documentation requirements. Strong attention to detail and ability to review and interpret technical construction plans and specifications. Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders. Proficient computer skills, including experience with permit tracking software, databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
