Inspector St. John The Baptist Parish Government 1811 West Airline Highway, Laplace, LA 70068 Inspector (Code Enforcement) – SUMMARY
OF PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
Inspects new and existing buildings, structures, and other properties to enforce conformance with various Parish codes; maintains all necessary reports and records pertaining to inspections and code enforcement actions to substantiate code violations and prepare for case hearings.
REQUIREMENTS
In order to meet the minimum qualifications for this position, applicants must have obtained a high school diploma or GED and have a minimum of two (2) years of work experience associated with law enforcement, security, or similar work in an enforcement-type regulatory field. Experience as a nuisance abatement officer or litter control officer preferred. Must have valid Louisiana driver’s license and driving record acceptable to Parish’s Risk Manager.
OTHER:
Basic computer skills in MS Word and ability to learn and utilize department-specific software required.
PAY CLASSIFICATION
Grade 6.
STARTING PAY RANGE
$17.01/hour – $19.51/hour DOE.
