JOB SUMMARY:
This role will be responsible for consulting with contractors, consultants, engineers, job superintendents, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods, practices and safety precautions involved in construction and installation of the work. The Inspector also prepares daily progress reports and maintains progress schedules; checks shop drawings and contractors’ quotations for variations; keeps records of quantities and cost of materials used; prepares contractors’ periodic progress payment claims and recommends payment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Scheduling, budgeting, and addressing safety issues related to construction projects. Train and supervise staff and review contract documents. Perform field construction inspections, materials sampling and/or testing to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and schedules. Perform required field measurements, maintain detailed records and reports, and communicate effectively with contractor. Prepare inspection and construction reports. Visits job site at regular intervals to ensure compliance to regulations.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
High school graduate and 3+ years’ experience in construction industry. Extensive knowledge of all building codes and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications. Technical skills and computer proficiency.
