Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
Site Supervision:
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and maintain detailed records of work progress and issues.
Quality Assurance:
Verify that materials and workmanship meet the required standards and specifications. Identify and report any defects or deviations from the contract documents.
Communication & Reporting:
Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and the client. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on site activities, progress, and quality issues.
Health & Safety:
Observe and report on-site health and safety practices. Ensure that contractors adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of site activities, including photographs, inspection logs, and correspondence. Assist in the preparation of snagging lists and final inspections.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven experience in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Excellent attention to detail and observational skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Relevant qualifications in construction, civil engineering, or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND, NVQ, or equivalent).
Desirable:
Membership of a professional body such as ICWCI (Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate). Experience with digital reporting tools and construction management software.
