This position performs varied and detailed inspectional duties, ensuring compliance with Massachusetts State Plumbing and Fuel Gas codes, regulations, and pertinent Town bylaws.

OF DUTIES
These duties are a general summary and not all inclusive: Administer and enforce the provisions of the Plumbing and Gasfitter Codes (CMR 248) as adopted or amended by the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gasfitters through: Inspecting installations for all plumbing and gas fitting work for which permits have been issuedReviewing construction, installation, and repair work relative to plumbing and gas trades to ensure complianceIdentifying non-compliant practices and recommending alternative practices that comply with code when necessaryIssuing citations where requiredAssist plumbers and Gasfitters in the field with piping designs and layouts, pipe size, etc; guide plumbers or Gasfitters in interpreting the code and the intent of the law; consult and advise other Town officials as needed or requested.
