Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:00 a.m.? 5:00 p.m.; Tuesday 8:00 a.m. ? 6:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. ? 12:30p.m. Duties and Responsibilities These duties are a general summary andnot all inclusive: Administer and enforce the provisions of the Plumbingand Gasfitter Codes (CMR 248) as adopted or amended by the Board ofState Examiners of Plumbers and Gasfitters through: Inspectinginstallations for all plumbing and gas fitting work for which permitshave been issued Reviewing construction, installation, and repair workrelative to plumbing and gas trades to ensure compliance Identifyingnon-compliant practices and recommending alternative practices thatcomply with code when necessary Issuing citations where required Assistplumbers and Gasfitters in the field with piping designs and layouts,pipe size, etc; guide plumbers or Gasfitters in interpreting the codeand the intent of the law; consult and advise other Town officials asneeded or requested. Requirements To be considered for the position,applicants must have at least: Massachusetts Master or JourneymanPlumber’s and Gas Fitter’s license Valid Driver?s License Thefollowing additional requirements may be substituted by any equivalentcombination of education, training, and experience which provides thenecessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job: Extensivetechnical or specialized training such as that which would be acquiredby an Associates Degree or two years of technical or business schoolBetween four to six years? experience In addition to the requirements ofwork, strong candidates will also have the following knowledge, ability,and skills: Thorough knowledge of plumbing and gas practices, laws,regulations, and pertinent codes equivalent to a journeyman inplumbing/gas fitting. Skill in interpersonal communication and conflictresolution. Skill in communication with internal and externalstakeholders, including contractors and residents. Basic computer skillsincluding the use of email and Microsoft Suite.
