POSITION.The City of Fayetteville is currently recruiting for a Code Enforcement Supervisor to supervise code enforcement officers in the field; perform field inspections of properties to ensure compliance with applicable zoning and nuisance codes, ordinances and regulations; interpret regulations and responsibility for all demolition cases; inspect and enforce solid waste, vehicle, graffiti, housing and zoning ordinances; review and issue notices, fines and citations to non-complying residential property owners; and to perform various related technical duties.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervise lower level code enforcement workers, including ensuring adherence to safe work practices and procedures, assigning work, preparing schedules, training staff on the proper use of equipment and performing related activities; conduct performance evaluations of lower level staff; participate in selection and disciplinary processes.
Inspect single family homes, apartment buildings and other residential buildings and properties including overgrown and trashy yards, lots and substandard and condemnable structures; ensure compliance with applicable zoning and nuisance codes, ordinances and regulations; perform follow-up inspections as necessary.
Prepare, review, and issue notices, fines and citations to non-complying residential property owners.
Enforce and interpret zoning, housing, solid waste, graffiti and vehicle ordinances.
Perform research to determine the approved conditional uses of property; research owners, tax records and maps and take actions to enforce City codes.
Participate in a variety of travel within City limits including site inspection and title investigations.
Respond to inquiries, concerns and complaints received regarding codes and ordinances pertaining to area of assignment.
Perform a variety of research on planning, zoning, background information, and administrative requests; compile and analyze data.
