Salisbury-Rowan Utilities is seeking motivated candidates who will perform responsible technical work inspecting new water and sewer lines and services to ensure conformance to City and State standards and regulations. Duties include but are not limited to: review plans and construction drawings; meet with contractors, engineers, and property owners to review and explain requirements; inspect parts and materials to ensure compliance with standards; inspect job sites for quality of work and adherence to approved plans and specifications; and oversee testing and approval of new infrastructure. The Utility Construction Inspector will often work outdoors under a variety of conditions and must be able to establish effective working relationships with contractors and developers while exercising tact and firmness in the enforcement of requirements. Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED and considerable experience in water and sewer infrastructure maintenance and construction, or related inspection experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range:

$23.74 – $37.98/ hour (Depending on experience) $2,000 sign-on bonus to be paid as a lump sum after successful completion of probationary period.
