Job Description
Multi-Trades Inspector – Code Administration 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars Center, NC JOB The Multi-Trades Inspector performs inspections for building construction and existing structures for compliance with applicable building trades and related codes and ordinances. This position provides technical interpretation of codes and regulations as needed and prepares and maintains all required documentation. Compensation is based on standard certifications held and experience in inspections. Position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.
Multi-Trades Inspector I:
$25.19/hr – $42.82/hr
Multi-Trades Inspector II:
$26.45/hr – $44.96/hr
Multi-Trades Inspector III:
$29.16/hr – $49.57/hrBrunswick County Code Administration utilizes a career ladder and certification incentive program for advancement which allows employees to further their career in the inspections field as certifications are attained.
Career LadderInspector I:
Must possess a Probationary or Standard Level I certification in at least two trades within 30 days of hire and will be required to obtain a minimum of two Standard Level I certifications within 18 months of hire; andMust possess a Probationary or Standard Level II certification in at least two trades within 9 months of hire and will be required to obtain a minimum of two Standard Level II certifications within three years of hire.
Inspector II:
Must possess a minimum of both Standard Level I certifications and Standard Level II certifications in two trades.
Inspector III:
Must possess Standard or Probationary Level III certifications in three trades within 30 days of hire and will be required to obtain Standard Level III certifications within three years of hire.
Certification Incentive Program Trades Include:
Building, Plumbing, Electrical, and MechanicalUpon obtaining
Level I Standard:
$1,000Upon obtaining
Level II Standard:
$1,500Upon obtaining
Level III Standard:
