Distribution Designer Position Available In Butler, Pennsylvania

Job Title:

Distribution DesignerJob Description The Distribution Designer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing construction sketches and work packages for overhead and underground distribution facilities ranging from 4 KV to 38 KV. The role includes performing pole loading analyses, voltage drop and flicker calculations, cable pulling, bill of material preparation, cost estimates, joint use coordination, traffic control plans, and permit drawings. You will support preliminary project scoping, perform field work as needed, and contribute to the maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components. Additionally, you will plan modifications to the system, design, and oversee complex tasks while providing construction support and engaging in client communication. Responsibilities + Prepare and review construction sketches for distribution facilities. + Perform pole loading analyses and voltage drop calculations. + Develop cable pulling plans and bill of materials. + Estimate costs and coordinate joint use activities. + Create traffic control plans and permit drawings. + Conduct field work as necessary. + Support maintenance of distribution components. + Plan system modifications and oversee complex tasks. + Provide construction support and communicate with clients. Essential Skills + Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation. + Experience in distribution design and electrical engineering. + Drafting and distribution engineering skills. + 1+ year of experience within the electric utility sector. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Willingness to perform field/site visits. Work Environment This role offers a hybrid work environment, involving work in the field, office, and from home. The Distribution Team is currently composed of two full-time members based in Pittsburgh. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 – $40.00/hr.
