THE POSITION

OF WORK
In this position, you will utilize your exceptional attention to detail as you review and verify electronic material certifications while collaborating with the Inspector to resolve any discrepancies that may occur. It is crucial to ensurepliance with Pennsylvania Test Method (PTM) standards, as well as those established by the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials (AASHTO) and the American Society for Testing & Materials (ASTM). Your duties will include monitoring shipments to verify that material quality meets specifications and that weigh slips accurately represent the quantities shipped. Furthermore, you will observe testing procedures at Portland cement plants, asphalt plants, and aggregate quarries to maintain quality control throughout production. Accurate documentation of sampling and testing methods is essential, along with promptly identifying and reporting any potential issues to your supervisor.

Work Schedule and Information:
Full-time Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blues, plans, or schematics; or
One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
An equivalentbination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of an active nonmercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver’s License or equivalent.
