The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of chimney systems through thorough inspections, cleaning, and maintenance. This role requires a combination of technical skills and hands-on experience in construction-related tasks. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive inspections of chimney systems to identify issues such as blockages, structural damage, or safety hazards. Perform cleaning services using specialized tools and equipment to remove soot, creosote, and debris from chimneys and flues. Provide clients with detailed reports on the condition of their chimneys and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance. Utilize power tools effectively for various tasks associated with chimney maintenance and repairs. Assist in minor construction projects related to chimney installation or repair, including caulking, plastering, and flooring installation as needed. Read blueprints to understand project specifications and ensure compliance with safety standards during inspections and repairs. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship. Qualifications Previous experience in chimney sweeping or a related field is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Proficiency in using power tools and performing basic construction tasks is essential. Familiarity with electrical systems, remodeling techniques, and construction inspection practices is a plus. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential safety hazards during inspections. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and provide clear explanations of services performed. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments. A valid driver’s license is required for travel to job sites.
