Summary Expectations are someone who is self-supporting, capable of getting in and out of the tunnel daily to check on progress, coordinate with the contractor, keep daily records, document progress, and any issues onsite. In addition the inspector may be required to monitor noise monitors (nothing technical, rather just record decibels if required). Responsibilities Inspector for the West Ashley Sewer Tunnel project in Charleston. It will be an 18-month duration starting in June 2025 CWS would expect the inspector to be a responsible individual and act as their onsite rep. We would anticipate several hours in the tunnel each shift but it could vary depending on activities. Paid mileage expenses for someone commuting more than 30 miles outside Charleston. Requirements Prefer someone with minimum 8 years of construction or inspection related experience in water/wastewater utilities Minimum high school education but preferably a tech school or higher ed Read and understand construction drawings and specifications Ability to communicate well with others, complete electronic field reports Valid driver’s license. Work hours will be Mon-Fri approximately 5PM to 1AM.
