Our Northern Alabama Region ( Huntsville ) is currently seeking a Construction Foreman . The Foreman is responsible for field operations on the project (s)/facets of work for the region to achieve timely, safe, and profitable completion of each project. This position demonstrates strong leadership, organizational and time management skills (ability to plan and drive project activities), resource (field personnel and equipment) management skills, as well as having infrastructure construction experience, focusing on commercial, residential, and heavy highway. Experience with State, County, and City Transportation Authorities (Alabama, preferred). Understanding of the field trades and ability to communicate and relate to crews and supervision is mandatory. Qualified candidates will possess the following: 5 + years related experience in heavy civil construction – highway, asphalt paving, grading and stone base, asphalt production, quarrying, and site development (preferred). Comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of civil infrastructure, asphalt paving, and roadway construction required. Proven experience with State Transportation Authorities (DOT’s). High understanding of civil construction plans and specifications (standards and special provisions). OSHA 10-Hour Safety Certified. Track record of working on medium to large construction projects, managing crews. Proven ability to manage field crews, equipment resources, and coordination with other operating area’s key personnel. High interpersonal communication skills, coupled with strong decision making/problem solving skills.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage equipment and material resources and direct management of crews. Commitment to an injury-free environment through leadership and mentoring others, adhering to the promotion of our brand’s safety culture and awareness. Coaching and mentoring team members, foremen, crew members, and subcontractors who fail to comply with company safety standards. Coordination of and planning (scheduling) to ensure all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates, coordinating with the Project Superintendent and Construction Manager to address schedule slippage. Align crew operations to ensure accountability for project costs, quality, and adherence to plans and specifications is in alignment with company core values. Participate in project production meetings, collaboration with other trades, and efficiency efforts, maintaining resource value; (b) attend project meetings with Owner’s/Client’s, (c) project status reports, production and cost analysis (participation with Superintendent) and (d) project walk-throughs and jobsite hazard assessments. Reports to the Project Superintendent and/or Construction Manager. The Foreman is an integral part of the field operations team. The responsibilities and tasks of the foreman are Safety Sensitive, directly correlating to on-site project presence of the construction work and its management. Why you should work for
