Position Overview:

The Foreman is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations at a worksite, ensuring that all construction or maintenance tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and according to schedule. This position plays a key role in coordinating on-site personnel and subcontractors, managing workflow, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining communication with project managers and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of field operations and the ability to adapt to evolving site conditions.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and direct on-site labor and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and safety standards Monitor daily progress and provide updates to project leadership Manage daily and weekly project schedules, adjusting workflows and assignments as needed to meet deadlines Assign daily tasks to crew members based on project priorities, skill sets, and available resources Conduct site inspections to ensure quality, compliance, and safety Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage Resolve on-site issues quickly and effectively to keep projects on track Lead safety meetings and ensure a clean, organized, and hazard-free site Ensure tools and equipment are used and maintained properly Mentor junior staff and reinforce adherence to company policies and expectations Support material ordering and delivery to ensure timely availability on site

Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within construction, renovation, or facilities maintenance Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, scheduling practices, and safety regulations OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications (e.g., first aid, equipment operation) preferred Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, specifications, and project documentation Proven leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, and project management teams Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records of labor, materials, equipment usage, and site progress Attention to detail and the ability to proactively identify and resolve site issues

Physical Requirements & Schedule:

Active, field-based role performed primarily in outdoor or construction site environments Must be able to safely navigate job sites, including uneven terrain and varying weather conditions Regular physical activity required, including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and operate standard tools and equipment Visual acuity necessary for conducting inspections and overseeing work across large areas May require travel between job sites based on project needs Occasional extended hours or weekend work may be necessary during peak periods or project deadlines Must be able to maintain focus, leadership, and professionalism in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting
