VanKirk Electric is a leading national electrical sub-contractor that specializes in all phases of multi-family construction across the United States. The Assistant Superintendent helps the Superintendent oversee all aspects of assigned project from commencement to completion. They manage projects in accordance to the Assistant Superintendent program in a manner that exceeds our customer’s expectations and ensures that our work adheres to all company policies, safety policies and OSHA mandated requirements. This position reports to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities:

Review scope, plans, and layouts provided by the Project ManagerReview project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, contract scope, and performance standardFollow Project Manager’s Pre-Con documentation, proposals, and plans processThe Superintendent will maintain project schedule by monitoring project progressControls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changesGenerate weekly and monthly material requestsAttend weekly jobsite coordination meetings with General ContractorPerform quality control for work being performedCommunicate with Project Manager regarding ASI’s, RFI’s and MaterialsCoordinate required inspections with local jurisdictionsIdentify conflicts in construction progress and communicate to Project Manager/Regional Team for resolutionMaintain Daily log of activities on the jobsiteMaintains safe and clean working environment

Knowledge and Experience:

2+ Years Supervisory/Foreman experience Preferred 5+ Years Construction Industry experience Preferred Ability to review and understand Electrical drawings Working knowledge of the N.E.C. Maintains safe and clean working environment

Requirements:

College Diploma/Degree, construction management or related field a plus Successful completion of pre-employment screening Inventory Management experience Computer Skills Electrical background (preferred)
