Minimum Skills:
Position requires a minimum of two years of experience in Underground Utilities to supervise crew installing potable water main, gravity sewer, and all types of storm drains.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accomodation, and meet other requirements of this position.
Plan out each day and communicate to crew members what activities are to be accomplished;
Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are communicated and followed;
Review and verify employee timesheets for accuracy before submitting for payroll processing;
Record daily progress of crew on timesheet and in construction notebook provided;
Operates heavy equipment, including backhoes and related equipment, to bore or excavate for installations or repairs to the distribution system; backfills and moves dirt and grades surfaces; operates equipment to load and unload material for the job.
Investigates reports of all water leaks (meter leaks, service leaks, hydrants leaks, etc.) to determine need for repairs.
Locates and inspects valves, hydrants, and meters from maps, drawings and sketches; may turn off fire hydrants, main or services upon request.
Installing and repairing main, service lines, fire hydrants, meters, valves and other appurtenances.
Taps water mains: installs, repairs, or removes steel or plastic service lines; installs industrial, commercial, or residential water meters.
Ensures the materials and tools are available as needed, return tools and equipment to their proper place; keep tools and supplies in a clean and orderly manner on the job; keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Performs physical labor work as required, including using shovel and bar to excavate,back fills holes and trenches; installs shoring, and bracing in holes and trenches as required; mixes and shovel concrete into place; tamps and/or operates vibrator to ensure proper distribution of aggregate; replaces and/or install concrete around fire hydrants, manhole covers, gate pots, meter boxes, and related fixtures.
Employer will conduct reference checks, drug screening, and will review MVR.

Candidate will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites.
May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments.
May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. May assist other craft workers.
Pay will depend on experience
Hiring for all shifts: day, rotating, split and flexible shifts available.
This is a full time position with overtime available.
