Utility Foreman Job Description:
The Utility Foreman supervises and coordinates crews involved in the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground and above-ground utility systems, including water, sewer, storm drain, electrical, gas, and telecommunications. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory standards. Qualifications for
Utility Foreman:
8-10+ years of experience in utility construction, including at least 3-4 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of utility installation methods (open trench, directional boring, etc.) and materials (PVC, HDPE, ductile iron). Ability to read and interpret construction plans, utility locates, and municipal specifications. Proficiency with basic construction tools and heavy equipment. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (preferred).
