R.S. Audley, Inc. has full-time opening for a Pipe Foreman. This role is essential in providing support and assistance in major highway projects.
Job Description Summary:
A Pipe Foreman is responsible for overseeing and managing the installation of stormwater drainage systems, water lines, sewer lines and other subsurface structures. General knowledge of excavation methods, shoring, and water management are essential. This role involves directing and managing a crew of construction workers, equipment and subcontractors. This individual is responsible for enforcing the R.S. Audley, Inc.’s safety standards as well as policies and procedures. This role is essential in ensuring that site work is meeting the standards set by the project plans as well as ensuring the work being completed stays on target for completion.
Key Functions and Requirements:
- Demonstrates safe and ethical behavior at all times.
- Committed to safety of employees and mindful of environment. If there are safety issues, this individual is to report these issues to the Project Superintendent, Director of Safety, or Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
- Supervises and manages construction of drainage, water and sewer lines.
- Supervises employees working on site, ensuring that R.S. Audley, Inc. is meeting project goals.
- Documents daily quantity reports, timesheets and other job-related paperwork.
- Manages employee performance/employee issues as necessary.
- Oversees excavation and infrastructure installation activities.
- Communicates effectively with field superintendent, subcontractors/vendors and employees.
- Works with owner’s representative or construction manager in the installation of work.
- Conducts weekly tailgate safety meetings and any additional safety meetings as deemed necessary.
- Maintains a clean jobsite.
- Participate in the training and other forms of development to strengthen technical skills.
- Ensure job equipment and tools are maintained in good working order and are safe for use.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and experience reading, understanding and implementing design plans.
- Must be competent with the use of a roto-laser, transit, GNSS technology and pipe laser.
- Strong mathematical skills required.
- Must be able to calculate
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, must be willing to speak with a variety of different levels.
- Must be adaptable to varying conditions in the field.
- Excellent knowledge of safety precautions and protocols.
- Possess the ability to work independently and lead daily activities of team members according to work schedule.
- Able to consistently meet attendance expectations with dependability and consistency.
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in implementing drainage, sewer and water lines and heavy construction work in general.
- The ability to manage, motivate and lead employees in implementation of site work.
Required Education and Experience:
- Must have at least 4 years of experience as a utility foreman; NHDOT experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED
- 10 Hour OSHA Certification; 30 Hour OSHA Certification is preferred.
- Any combination of education or experience that demonstrates that the individual has the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work.
