Scaffolding Foreman – Hoist Foreman (Construction Elevator)Position Summary The Scaffolding Foreman – Hoist Foreman is responsible for leading and supervising scaffold installation crews, specifically for projects involving construction elevators and hoisting systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial or industrial scaffolding and hoist operations, with proven leadership experience and deep knowledge of OSHA and NYC regulations. This role requires the ability to commute to job sites in any of the five NYC boroughs or New Jersey, though proximity to the Carlstadt office is not required. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily operations of scaffold erection, modification, dismantling, and hoist installation. Ensure all work is performed in accordance with

OSHA, NYC

DOB, ANSI, and NYS Scaffold Law regulations. Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. Review and interpret scaffold plans, blueprints, and structural drawings to guide field crews. Complete and maintain accurate documentation including scaffold inspection reports, timekeeping, inventory logs, and incident records. Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, project managers, and safety teams. Train, mentor, and enforce accountability among crew members regarding performance, productivity, and safety compliance. Utilize job site software/tools to track work progress, materials, and workforce activity. Coordinate material deliveries, inventory, and lay-down yard logistics. Operate or oversee hoisting equipment and ensure hoist systems are installed and maintained correctly. Perform hands-on scaffold and hoist work as needed, including work at height and in confined spaces.

Qualifications Experience :

Minimum 5 years of hands-on scaffolding experience in commercial or industrial settings. Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or foreman role managing scaffold crews. Hoist operation or construction elevator experience is required.

Certifications :

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification (Required). NYC SST 40-Hour Site Safety Training Card (Required – Local Law 196). NYC DOB Scaffold Certification (Required). Competent Person Certification for Scaffolding per OSHA (or must obtain within 30 days of hire). NYS Scaffold Law Awareness (Labor Law §240 and §241) familiarity (Required). First Aid/CPR Certification (Preferred).

Technical Skills :

Ability to read scaffold blueprints and structural drawings. Proficient in scaffold inspection and documentation procedures. Familiar with digital reporting tools for safety, inventory, and crew tracking.

Other Requirements :

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, and in tight or elevated spaces.
