Non-Exempt Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of working crews engaged in construction and maintenance projects on public property, streets, sidewalks or rights-of-way using a variety of machines, tools and equipment.
Examples of Duties:
Supervises the work of the crews by visiting the worksites to ensure that the work is being completed safely, accurately and efficiently. Assigns daily work orders to the crew. Plans and estimates the materials and hours needed to complete jobs. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Interprets City policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Inspects work areas to determine type of work required and materials and equipment to be used. Maintains time and production records. Prepares required reports. May operate motor equipment such as tractors, front-end loaders and dump trucks. Performs activities of workers supervised. Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree (AA/AS) and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid SC Commercial Driver’s License – Class B.
