Construction Technician Position Available In Mobile, Alabama

This position requires conducting laboratory analysis, including sampling, sample preparation, and analysis according to established methods and standards. The role demands proficiency in reading and understanding laboratory analysis and testing specifications. You will assist with certification audits by the Army Corps of Engineers and other relevant entities. The position also requires physical activities such as walking through uneven terrain, standing for long periods, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Some after-hours and weekend work may be necessary to meet project requirements, and occasional overnight travel may be required. Responsibilities Conduct laboratory analysis, including sampling, sample preparation, and analysis. Understand and interpret laboratory analysis and testing specifications. Assist with certification audits by Army Corps of Engineers and other entities. Perform physical activities such as walking through uneven terrain and standing for long periods. Lift up to 75 lbs. Work after hours and weekends as needed. Travel overnight occasionally (10%). Essential Skills Proficiency in laboratory certifications and CMT laboratory practices. Knowledge of construction material testing and DOT standards. ACI certification or experience preferred. Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Organizational skills and proficiency in report writing. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Preference for candidates with a two-year or four-year degree in science or engineering. Equivalent work history will be considered. Ability to test and achieve required certification following training. Experience with current laboratory certifications (DOT, ACI, etc.) preferred. Work Environment Work primarily takes place in the CMT lab, with occasional fieldwork assisting CMT technicians.
