United States Job Description:
The successful candidate will travel across the United States and Canada performing installation and interconnection wiring of industrial ovens and related equipment with on-site supervision. The candidate will sometimes travel from one jobsite to the next, or may return to the company’s home office in Decatur, Alabama, upon project completion. The typical project cycle requires ten (10) or more days of consecutive travel, followed by four (4) or more days of time off. When not deployed but “on the clock,” candidate will work from office at Decatur facility.
Salary & Benefits:
$20.00/hour starting pay plus travel allowance, use of company vehicle and tools, paid time off, and option to receive personal or family insurance through BCBS of Alabama. Candidate will undergo 6 months of training in the field and then be eligible for incremental raises based on job performance. Travel time is paid at $12.50/hour. Typical work schedule involves significant travel and on-site overtime, paid at 1.5X base rate.
Hours and Schedule:
When in the field, works days are typically from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM with a one-hour meal break. Typical travel schedule involves 20-22 travel days per month.
Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site installation work and interconnection wiring of industrial machinery
- Must be able to lift 70-pound parts without assistance
- Climbing ladders, overhead reaching, bending, and squatting are all required
- Report on-site parts errors/shortages to supervisor
- Report customer concerns to supervisor
- Report installation issues to supervisor
- Provide emergency on-site repair to equipment as needed
- Perform limited machine operation tasks at factory when not deployed to installation sites
Requirements:
- Ability to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to use hand tools and small power tools with extreme skill
- Ability to safely and efficiently work from a ladder
- Familiarity with forklifts, scissor and bucket lifts preferred
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Ability to respond professionally during on-site situations with difficult customers or contractors
- Flexible schedule: ability to work 10+ hours per day and on weekends as needed
