As a Pipe Laborer, you will work hands-on in the field to install and connect underground piping systems within water, wastewater treatment facilities, and other complex construction projects. You’ll work closely with your crew to grade trenches, align and connect various piping materials, and support general site work, all while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. Key Responsibilities Install underground piping systems including storm, sanitary, and water lines. Use grade tools such as lasers and transit levels to measure and prepare trenching. Align, seal, and connect pipe materials with precision and care. Cut, fit, and rig interior piping systems according to specifications and field conditions. Manage and organize materials delivered to the site. Work safely and ensure your crew follows all safety regulations and procedures. Support the team by stepping into other skilled roles such as Laborer, Carpenter, or Cement Finisher, based on your experience. Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or Superintendent. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of construction field experience or equivalent technical training. Experience with laser levels, trench grading, and pipe cutting equipment. Understanding of pipe systems, fittings, and layout procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to interpret plans and think critically in changing field conditions.
