As an OSP Communications Ground Hand Laborer, you’ll help with installing and maintaining cables and equipment for outside plant communications. You’ll work with a team to place, rearrange, and remove poles, conduits, cables, and other equipment. This job involves working outdoors and may require working on weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with aerial and underground construction Perform physical labor to support construction tasks Complete paperwork as needed Work in various weather conditions Follow instructions from the crew foreman Keep records of work activities Use hand tools
Safety Responsibilities:
Follow safety regulations and standards Participate in job site safety analysis
Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License required Ability to work nights and weekends Team player with good communication skills Comfortable working outdoors in different environments Physically able to perform tasks such as lifting up to 70 pounds, working at heights, and in trenches Interest in telecommunications or fiber optics
