Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a dependable and hardworking Skilled Laborer to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting the Foreman/Supervisor on job sites involving underground utility installation. The ideal candidate has experience in utility work, can follow direction, and is capable of performing manual labor in a variety of outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload materials, tools, supplies, and traffic signage at job sites. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively. Provide flagging and traffic control as required. Assist pipefitters and operators with materials and equipment. Grease equipment and assist with basic equipment maintenance. Perform landscaping tasks including prepping soil, planting, and fertilizing. Install silt fencing and erosion control materials. Account for and properly secure all tools and supplies at the end of each shift. Clean, maintain, and wash tools, equipment, and company vehicles. Perform general yard and shop maintenance, including lawn care. Work outdoors in varying conditions such as heat, cold, wind, dust, and noise. Operate construction equipment as required, with proper safety checks and pre-use inspections. Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free job site. Work effectively and productively for up to 12 hours per day when required. Be available for night, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
Basic math, reading, and writing skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs (team lift for anything heavier). Full range of motion and ability to work on uneven surfaces. Ability to operate trucks, power tools, and basic construction equipment. Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player. Comfortable working in high-stress, physically demanding environments. Must be tech-savvy and own a smartphone (used for job tracking or communication apps).
Must have valid certifications in:
Flagger Safety Confined Space Entry Competent Person Silica Awareness First Aid/CPR Education & Experience Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years old. High school diploma or GED required. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in sewer/water utility construction.
