Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Scrapyard Laborer in Locust Grove, GA. In this Role, you will be responsible for material handling and sorting. Apply today if you meet the qualifications listed below. In a Scrapyard Laborer job, you’ll be responsible for: Sorting recyclable materials such as metal by type and grade.
Removing non-recyclable or hazardous materials from sorting lines to maintain product quality and safety.
Loading and unloading materials manually or using basic equipment. Assisting with feeding recyclable materials into machines such as shredders, baler, or compactors.
Monitoring machinery for blockages or malfunctions to report issues to supervisors.
Operating heavy machinery and welding. What you’ll need: Previous experience in general labor, construction, or recycling operations (preferred).
Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Comfortable with working outdoors or in non-climate-controlled environments in varying weather conditions.
Attention to detail when sorting material.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Must have steel toe boots.
