Manual Laborer 3.3 3.3 out of 5 stars 78 Mossy Creek Dr, Fort Valley, GA 31030 This is a basic entry-level worker position doing manual labor in the landscaping industry. Your job duties may vary from day to day depending upon which crew you are placed with. All of it will be hard work and outdoors, so be prepared for the summer heat.

• WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE JOB

• At Real Turf Solutions, most workers will be with a lawn maintenance crew or a landscape enhancement and installation crew.

LAWN CREW DUTIES

In the lawn maintenance division, you will help provide lawn care services to the properties on the crew’s route. You will work under the supervision of the assigned crew leader. Lawn care tasks include work such as weedeating, edging, pulling weeds, picking up trash, trimming bushes, blowing, leaf removal, etc. Do NOT expect to be riding the mower as soon as you are hired. Lawn maintenance will involve a lot of walking, especially if you are doing large commercial properties. You will need to be able to work at a steady pace to help complete the properties within the budgeted service time for each visit.•

ENHANCEMENT CREW DUTIES

On the enhancement crews, you can expect to run shovels, push wheelbarrows, spread mulch or pinestraw, lay sod, move supplies/equipment, assist in the installation of landscape features/plants, and more. You will be working in the dirt and mud a lot on the enhancement crew. You will help with installation and construction jobs under the supervision of the crew leader/project foreman. Installation tasks involve using upper body muscles extensively. You will often be in one spot for long periods while digging holes, leveling dirt, etc. You may occasionally work with the irrigation service technician and assist them on bigger jobs by performing tasks such as digging up irrigation heads and broken pipes while the irrigation tech works on the irrigation system. Irrigation duties are similar to installation work. The enhancement crews often do irrigation system-related jobs too. __________________________________________________

• REQUIREMENTS

• 6 months experience in landscaping is highly preferred (Highest preference given to candidates with one year experience or more ) Preference given to candidates with a valid Georgia driver’s license Must complete a background check with no major criminal history Must be able to pass randomly performed drug tests (without needing time to “study” for them) Able to walk and stand for extended periods without difficulty Able to lift 80 pounds unassisted Able to repeatedly lift and carry 20 pounds for a minimum distance of 15 yards at least 10 times in a row without pause or assistance Able to lift and carry 40 pounds for a minimum distance of 25yrds unassisted Able to perform tasks requiring repetitive shoulder/arm/wrist/hand movements for extended periods without difficulty Able to carry out physically demanding tasks while working unassisted in standing, kneeling, crouched, or hunched over positions for extended periods outdoors in various weather conditions•
