experience level: mid level job title: Construction help Looking for a couple guys with experience in framing, flooring, painting, drywall, plaster, trim, anything. You must actually be good at something. I am behind and overwhelmed on some big jobs, and everyone I hire just sets me further behind. I prefer people who have a couple years of new construction experience doing anything. I’m considering an IQ test also. Regardless of what people think, this is not a good line of work for dumb people. It’s crazy to me how many people can’t follow and example or stop and ask for help rather than do some terrible looking work and not have a clue what professional quality work looks like even when they have an example. And do not contact me if you’re blind and don’t have glasses, or if you can’t follow directions. Please be able to accurately judge a 1/16, 1/8, and 1/4 inch. I need people that work steady with little supervision. I would absolutely love to find someone between 35 and 45 that can measure angles, cut trim, and build beautiful custom showers. But, I doubt I will. I also wouldn’t mind someone a little younger, has little experience, but is smart, has a good work ethic, and wants to learn some skills that will earn a nice paycheck. I work for a contractor that hustles and gets lots of jobs, and I’m the sub that does beautiful work and passes inspection with flying colors, but he has had to hire other subs because I can’t find anyone to help me. I literally have to do everything myself. The job is super informal. I don’t care about anything except ones ability to get things done, correctly. I don’t mind paying daily for a few days, then I usually pay about 2x a week. I’m currently tearing off about 1000 sq ft of roof down to the walls and reframing and decking with 1x. I also have about 22 ft of exterior wall that has to be tore out and reframed with 3 windows, plumbing, and electrical. Plus another small section of wall. Then I have to build a big L shaped deck 6 ft off the ground. Then I have a ton of interior work at the house that I’m rebuilding the roof on. I’ll be reframing this week.
