Refractory Laborer

Gramercy, LA 70052 R&H Quality Refractory Services is hiring LOCAL Refractory Laborers for turn-around starting second week of May 2025 in Gramercy, LA No Per Diem will be paid.

Estimated time of project:

30 days (Day & Night Shifts)

MUST HAVE VALID BASIC PLUS SAFETY CARD JOB SCOPE

This position is responsible for assisting any other person on the job site as directed by the Labor Foreman or Supervisor. He/she is responsible for doing his/her assigned job in an efficient and safe manner. He/she is responsible for being present and punctual, as required by his/her supervisor.

JOB FUNCTIONS

1. To be reliable, prompt, and safety conscious. 2. Must be able to conduct himself/herself in a professional manner at all times. 3. To carry out work as required.

This may include:

Tearing out old refractory Hooking up hoses or utility lines Moving packages of new refractory, stacking brick Obtaining tools for bricklayers or craftsmen Housekeeping/clean-up responsibilities

SKILLS REQUIRED

Must be able to repeatedly and properly lift 50 lbs. from ground level to shoulder height. Must be able to work outdoors during any weather conditions. Must be able to follow directions and carry out all job functions in a safe manner. An experienced laborer will be knowledgeable of refractory tools and equipment and will have the capability to safely operate small tools and equipment. Must have successfully completed Basic Plus Safety Council training and have a current identification card showing completion of this course. Must successfully complete any safety orientations required by each plant, before working.

Job Types:

Full-time, Temporary Pay:

From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 50 – 70 per week
