Job Description

Laborer – Laplace, LA Foret Contracting Group, LLC. Laplace, LA 70068 The basic function of the Laborer is to perform manual labor related task as required and to assist the Supervisor(s) or designee with the company operations so that it may produce the optimum conditions of productivity, efficiency, safety, and ease of operations.

Body Positions – While performing the duties of this job, the employee:  Must be able to work in limited workspace, frequently.  Must be able to tolerate intermittent periods of stooping, bending, and squatting.  Must be able to tolerate intermittent periods of climbing ladders and stairs.  Must be able to tolerate your own weight bearing on the knees while kneeling to perform various work activities. b. Body Movements  Must be capable of standing up for up to 2 hours at a time, 3 to 5 times daily.  Must be capable of walking an average of 8 to 10 hours daily.  Must be capable of balancing 5 to 15 lbs. in either hand simultaneously, 3 to 5 times daily.  Must be able to tolerate intermittent periods of exerting force necessary to move an object from one level to another.  Must be able to tolerate periods of excessive twisting of the upper torso to the right or left.  Must be able to use the flexibility of the feet to operate foot controls on an occasional basis.  Must be able to use the fingers to manipulate screws, bolts, washers, nuts, etc., frequently.  The employee must have a full range of body movements. c. Body Senses  The employee must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, and taste. d. Strength  Must be capable of lifting and carrying 70 lbs., occasionally.  Must be able to pull up to 150 lbs., 5 to 10 times daily.  Must be capable of pushing up to 150 lbs., 3 to 5 times daily.  Must be able to lift objects and reach periodically above the head.

Working Conditions:

1. This position will be working primarily outdoors on a regular basis. The employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures. Normal auto travel hazards will apply. Travel will be in all types of weather including heavy rain and occasional below freezing temperatures. 2. The noise level in the work environment can be quite high and would require hearing protection to be worn. 3. This position also requires working in a shop, warehouse, and/or office environment as needed. 4. May be required to wear Fire Retardant Clothing as needed.

Authority:

1. The Laborer is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to fulfill the responsibilities assigned so long as such action does not deviate from established corporate policy and is consistent with sound business judgment when on a remote job site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The duties and responsibilities of the Laborer include, but are not limited to: a. Operate and maintain company tools and equipment. b. Abide by all the company’s policies and procedures. c. Ensure that all company requirements relating to safety, health and environment are strictly adhered to and enforced. d. Must maintain a positive working relationship with other employees and with management. e. Must complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner as required. f. Must perform assigned tasks safely and completely to meet company and client goals. g. Must assist the Supervisor(s) or designee as needed. h. Seeks guidance and direction as necessary from management on all serious issues. i. Must have a working knowledge of FCG tools and equipment. j. Demonstrates good judgment in identifying and solving potential problems. k. Must maintain the company’s goodwill for future business. l. Must report all incidents, accidents, near misses and/or unwarranted harassment immediately to Supervisor(s), Safety Director, Human Resources Manager. m. Maintains cleanliness of polymer and finishing area(s). n. Maintains cleanliness of freeze rollers and associated equipment. o. Clean discarded neoprene, as necessary. p. Maintains cleanliness of finishing warehouse. q. Conducts inventory of equipment. r. Label and store drum waste material in accordance with policies and procedures.
