HERBICIDE LABORER

is to provide support and assistance to the crew leader(s) in day-to-day vegetation management operations covering projects throughout the state of Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire. Responsibilities Herbicide applicator license for CT, MA, VT and NH. Keeping the work area clear of debris, cleaning up limbs and branches as needed. Raking the area clear to maintain the safety zone. Lining up branches and piling appropriately for loading into the chipper. Keeping tools in the staging area and safe zone. Assuring that all lines are kept clear at all times. Being attentive to the crew leader’s cues throughout the job and maintaining awareness of potential hazards. Safely driving company vehicles to / from job sites. Maintaining equipment such as keeping chainsaws sharpened, sprayers cleaned and operational. Operating heavy equipment such as a skid steer. Tying basic knots and operating rigging equipment. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Position Requirements OSHA 10 or Greater Certified Valid Driver’s License Vehicle required for transportation to job sites CT, MA, VT and NH Herbicide Licenses Chainsaw experienced Must be out of a laborers hall (LiUNA) Personal Attributes Interpersonal Communication – Navigate and relate with all levels of the organization; builds appropriate rapport; builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; can diffuse even high-tension situations comfortably.
