Job Description
Laborer – Nuclear EnergySolutions United States, North Carolina, Charlotte 121 West Trade Street (Show on map) Jun 11, 2025 Laborer – Nuclear EnergySolutions is hiring nuclear laborers for the fall outage season! A laborer is responsible for performing various tasks including housekeeping functions, escort duties, fire-watch, toolroom management, foreign material exclusion, and confined space duties. Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including meeting fitness for duty requirements.
Essential Functions:
Perform all job duties safely according to job requirements. Proper care and use of hand tools. Handle building materials and tools. Maintain a clean work area and ensure good housekeeping. Flag traffic as needed. Assist in maintaining project roads, parking areas, and walkways. Rope off unauthorized areas used by labor/utility craft. Perform dewatering operations. Perform fire watch duties. Distribute portable drinking water as required. Perform general cleanup of tools, equipment, materials, and work area. Transport supplies and equipment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Keeping detailed logs Must be detail oriented
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience. Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired. Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements. Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc. Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools. Availability for shift work, if needed. Ability to support other crafts as requested. Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels). Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures. Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures. Ability to pass specific training and qualifications. Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
