G11. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Installs and repairs water and wastewater lines, manholes, and infrastructureResponds to and repairs water and wastewater line breaks and leaks.
Responds to emergency situations.
Completes work to minimize the impact of our water and sewer on the environment and the public.
Establishes safe work zones, including conducting job hazard assessments, developing strategies to minimize risks, following OSHA guidelines, reporting safety issues, and using proper PPE.Sets up traffic control and directs traffic according to NCDOT and MUTCD guidelines.
Follows NC811 guidelines to understand underground utility hazards and dig safely.
Performs general repairs to landscaping and concrete sidewalks.
Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment.
Assists in the maintenance of equipment and supply inventory.
Assists in determining parts and materials required for various repair work.
Operates job related tools and equipment including vehicles.
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions – Construction DivisionFollows water quality standards and procedures to ensure safe drinking water quality.
Works rotating after hours on call standby shifts, including holidays and weekends.
