This position is suited for candidates with hands-on experience in general labor, concrete work, and utility-related duties on active construction sites. Key Responsibilities Assist in job site setup by measuring, marking, and laying out work Install and align formwork using bolts, nails, and hand tools Move and distribute concrete using wheelbarrows and rakes Signal heavy equipment operators during lifting and placement tasks Operate jackhammers and assist in leveling and grading tasks Mix mortar and concrete for structural and repair work Help install underground utilities including pipes and drainage Build and dismantle temporary structures like scaffolding and bracing Dig or expose utility lines safely using hand tools Apply sealants and caulking with tools or by hand Handle demolition and material removal Accurately complete basic job site paperwork Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Two or more years of relevant labor experience in construction Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Able to understand instructions and solve common worksite problems Valid Pennsylvania drivers license with reliable transportation DOT medical card required and provided by company Must bring: work boots, tape measure, claw hammer, small sledgehammer Physical Requirements Able to walk and stand for extended periods on uneven surfaces Lift up to 80 pounds and push or pull up to 200 pounds Comfortable climbing ladders or equipment up to 5 feet high Frequent bending, lifting, and working in outdoor environments Must be able to operate hand tools and small power equipment Benefits 100 percent employer paid medical insurance through Highmark 100 percent employer paid life insurance Additional voluntary insurance plans available 401k with company match Paid vacation and holidays Christmas bonus based on company performance Training and advancement opportunities Referral bonus program Local work with stable hours Family oriented company culture Home evenings and most weekends Occasional prevailing wage projects Overtime available Join the Bertolet Team If you are ready to be part of a reliable and respected construction company, apply today to start building a strong future with Bertolet Construction LLC.
