HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION LABORER
Southern Maritime Services is currently looking for Skilled Heavy Civil Construction Laborers with minimum 5+ years experience in both heavy civil and marine construction preferred.
GEORGIA APPLICANTS ONLY
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Manning excavators, loaders, skid steers, and various heavy construction equipment
- Utilizing various hand tools
- Preparing job sites
- Loading and unloading equipment
- Digging trenches
- Concrete work
- Concrete pouring and demolition
- Heavy timber work
- Maintain equipment in proper working order
- Demonstrate good problem-solving skills, both independently and within a team
- Work as directed by site supervisor
- Attend job site and company safety meetings
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience in Civil and Marine Construction
- Must pass a pre-employment physical
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Must pass a background check
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must own reliable transportation to commute to / from work
- Must live or relocate within reasonable commute to / from Savannah GA
- Ability to work from 7am to 5pm Monday – Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm Fridays
- Must be flexible and available to work all shifts including overtime when required
Physical Requirement:
- Individuals will frequently be required to push, pull, bend, or stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl and or stoop for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift or carry equipment, supplies and / or parts up to 75 lbs.
