SKILLED HEAVY CIVIL CONSTRUCTION LABORER

Southern Maritime Services is currently looking for Skilled Heavy Civil Construction Laborers with minimum 5+ years experience in both heavy civil and marine construction preferred.

GEORGIA APPLICANTS ONLY

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Manning excavators, loaders, skid steers, and various heavy construction equipment
• Utilizing various hand tools
• Preparing job sites
• Loading and unloading equipment
• Digging trenches
• Concrete work
• Concrete pouring and demolition
• Heavy timber work
• Maintain equipment in proper working order
• Demonstrate good problem-solving skills, both independently and within a team
• Work as directed by site supervisor
• Attend job site and company safety meetings

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience in Civil and Marine Construction
• Must pass a pre-employment physical
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
• Must pass a background check
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must own reliable transportation to commute to / from work
• Must live or relocate within reasonable commute to / from Savannah GA
• Ability to work from 7am to 5pm Monday – Thursday, 7am to 3:30pm Fridays
• Must be flexible and available to work all shifts including overtime when required

Physical Requirement:

• Individuals will frequently be required to push, pull, bend, or stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl and or stoop for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or carry equipment, supplies and / or parts up to 75 lbs.
