The general laborer position assists the skilled craft personnel in performing required construction tasks to complete a project. The position includes but is not limited to: hand excavation work, chipping, paining flagging, general housekeeping and clean-up, fueling, and assisting mechanics and operators with greasing and maintaining the equipment. 50% or more travel will be required for this position. Rotations will be worked out as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES and

RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Additional duties may be assigned. Assist in the development of Work Element Plans and JSA’s
Participates in site safety and planning meetings and Near Miss reporting
Ensures compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS Proficient working with standard laborer tools such as (but not limited to); sledge hammers, shovels, brooms, vacuums, pressure washers, and general hand tools
Must be able to take direction well and able to communicate: give, receive, understand, follow and respond to verbal and written instructions

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid picture identification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position, including: Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water
Able to safely execute duties in and round heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites
