Job:
The Superintendent is responsible for the successful daily coordination and direction of the project to make sure the project is safe, within budget, on schedule and in compliance with RGC’s Best Practices. This position will coordinate and schedule multiple construction crews, determine job requirements, plans, procedures and ensures subcontract work meets required specifications, all in a highly collaborative manner with the Project Team.
Major Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Best Practices & Relationships:
Coordinate and manage daily field operational objectives, timelines, and goals Oversees the review of plans and drawings related to the contract documents Manage, train and develop Assistant Superintendents, Engineers, Foremen and Craft persons. Determine staffing levels and timing considering building methodology, as well as the availability of tools and equipment for the construction project Recruit and hire (if applicable) people that will strive for exceptional results for RGC Work with all jobsite employees, Engineers, Architects, Subcontractors, Inspectors, and Vendor of materials to improve construction methods Review equipment requirements with the Project Manager to verify safety and ensure project operations specifications are met Assist Project Manager in the preparation of project status reports Comply with all jobsite reporting requirements, including daily reports, field purchase orders, weekly unit reports, weekly and monthly updates to the construction schedule. Supervise and coordinate Subcontractors to monitor their compliance with subcontract terms and make sure all subcontracts are executed correctly before the Subcontractor begins work Participate in Owner, Architect and Contractor meetings as advisable Maintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including Owner representatives, Architect and Engineers. Close out the project in compliance with the contract documents and RGC best practices
Safety & Quality Assurance/Quality Control:
Advocate safety as number one priority on the jobsite and enforce compliance with company and jobsite safety plan and policies and all safety-related regulations Meet the Quality Assurance / Quality Control requirements of the project Manage the safety of a job site by walking the site, participating in safety inspections, training and meeting with staff and subcontractors regularly Maintain a clean and orderly jobsite
Schedule:
Monitor the overall progress of a project, review processes and practices within teams to ensure consistency, efficiency and quality Develop and implement detailed schedules and production plans with budget and safety goals in mind. Participate in the monitoring of the project schedule with the Project Executive Coordinate, schedule and manage all subcontractors and vendors
Daily Reports & Documentation:
Complete thorough Daily Logs every day in strict accordance with RGC best practices, attaching pictures and other necessary documentation in Procore or, if a project is not in Procore, in the form acceptable to VP – Field Operations Respond to inaccurate or negative comments of concerns noted in these reports Assist with the creation, input, review and finalization of all daily reports in conjunction with the project lead, if applicable Monitor CPM schedule including, material tracking and delivery, production analysis, and submittal status Record and maintain information and produce reports relation to project logs, status and other operational data Review weekly labor reports and monthly total job cost reports carefully to determine areas needing special attention, and initiate changes and procedures to bring costs back into budget
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent 5+ years of construction experience Knowledge of safety, scheduling and cost control procedures Knowledge of all crafts of construction related to carpentry, concrete, structural steel, and interior build-outs Proven written and verbal communication skills Valid Driver’s License Continually drives for results, strives for improvement, creates trust with character and action, teams up successfully, solves complex problems and builds other people.

Spanish Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has supervisory responsibility of all members of the RGC Field Operations Team members on the project, unless a RGC Sr. Superintendent is on the Project Team. Ensure RGC policies and processes are followed in supervisory activities. Work with each direct report to establish goals and development plans for each year; monitor and supervise the progress to enhance their professional development and contribution to RGC.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a construction job site setting and in an office setting.
Physical Demands:
Works significant portion of day outside on construction site Able to walk or stand for long periods of time Able to lift/move up to 70 lbs. Able to deal with the physical activities associated with a construction site (stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist) Able to navigate work areas under construction
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard day and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend hours are required as the job duties demand.
Travel:
Travel to other RGC job sites and to RGC offices is required.
