Asphalt Foreman The Butler Company 848 Marshall Phelps Road, Windsor, CT 06095 Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor to oversee asphalt projects and ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in road asphalt projects with specific knowledge of storm draining restoration. Management, excellent leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of safety regulations are additional requirements. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating tasks among team members, managing resources effectively, and maintaining clear communication with project managers. Responsibilities Supervise daily operations on the construction site to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards. Coordinate and schedule work activities for crew members, ensuring efficient use of labor and materials. Review blueprints and project plans to understand scope and requirements for each phase of construction. Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure adherence to quality standards and OSHA regulations. Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services. Assist in budgeting and cost estimation processes using tools such as ProCore or Prolog. Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily reports, material usage, and labor hours. Train and mentor team members on best practices in construction techniques, safety protocols, and equipment operation. Experience Proven experience as a Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices and budget management. Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera or Bluebeam is preferred. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Understanding of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively. Experience managing contracts and working collaboratively with clients and stakeholders is a plus.
